On 28 July 2026, we published the draft decision for the Sturt Plateau Pipeline classification decision. 

Our draft decision was to classify the Sturt Plateau Pipeline as a transmission pipeline.

We considered the national gas objective, the pipeline classification criterion, the pipeline characteristics outlined in section 13 of the National Gas Law and stakeholders’ views in making our draft decision. 

Prior to making our draft decision, we consulted with certain stakeholders in accordance with rule 29F(3) of the National Gas Rules. We received the following submissions.
