On 13 February 2026, Transgrid applied to the AER to revoke and substitute its electricity transmission revenue determination for the 2023–28 regulatory control period, to adjust total forecast capital expenditure (capex) approved for Project EnergyConnect (PEC) in our April 2023 final decision

Stakeholder submissions on Transgrid’s reopener application closed on 28 April 2026.

In early September 2026, we will publish a consultation paper setting out our preliminary position on Transgrid’s application to reopen the 2023–28 transmission revenue determination for Project EnergyConnect. While this is not a legislated requirement for the reopener process, we consider that all stakeholders should have the opportunity to engage with our preliminary views. Details of the consultation process will be set out in the document.
