Annual Adjustment

The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has adjusted the 2024 Values of Customer Reliability (VCR) for 2025 in accordance with the VCR methodology.

The methodology requires us to annually adjust the VCR by the latest available All groups Consumer Price Index (CPI) at the time of the adjustment.

In 2025 the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) moved to a monthly CPI series, with the latest released in October 2025. All groups CPI increased by 3.81 per cent in the year to October 2025.

Network businesses, market operators and regulators that are required to apply the VCR should adopt the adjusted values from 18 December 2025.

The full set of adjusted values are contained in new versions of Appendices A–C, Appendix E, and Appendix F to the 2024 Final report on VCR values

The AER has also published a Values of Customer Reliability 2025 Annual Adjustment Summary.
