Overview

Directlink is an electricity transmission interconnector between Queensland and New South Wales. Under the National Electricity Rules (NER) Directlink must submit its next electricity transmission revenue proposal to the AER by 31 January 2024 for the 5 year regulatory control period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2030.

The first stage in the determination process is the Framework and approach paper for the 2025–30 period.

On 14 December 2022, the AER issued a decision to amend or replace Directlink’s current Framework and Approach.

On 17 March 2023 the AER published a Preliminary position paper on the Framework and Approach paper for the regulatory period commencing 1 July 2025. No submissions were received.

On 3 July 2023 the AER published the final Framework and Approach for Directlink.
