The AER has released a Compliance Bulletin on Short Term Gas Transaction Reporting to provide guidance to reporting entities on how to meet the requirements under Part 18 of the National Gas Rules.
We’ve noticed some common areas of confusion based on questions received about how to report short-term gas supply and swap transactions in bespoke contract situations.
This compliance guidance aims to help make clearer what’s required and iron out the confusion.
We’ve developed it in consultation with industry stakeholders and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and it includes a chapter on frequently asked questions (FAQs) that incorporate ones previously published on AEMO’s website.
We will use compliance monitoring, feedback from industry stakeholders, and gas policy developments to consider any ongoing updates to the bulletin.
