On 22 May 2026, Ergon Energy and Energex submitted requests to the AER to amend their tariff structure statements to remove the following optional tariffs they had planned to introduce during the 2025-30 regulatory control period:

  • three-part demand tariffs for residential and small business customers
  • flexible load tariffs for residential and small business customers.

The AER is required to approve or refuse to approve these requests for amendments no later than four months before the start of the 2027-28 regulatory year.
