Submissions

Interested stakeholders were invited to provide submissions on our draft decision and Ausgrid's revised proposal.  Submissions closed on 19 January 2024 and are available on the Consultation milestone.

Ausgrid's revised proposal

On 30 November Ausgrid submitted its revised 2024-29 Regulatory proposal to respond to the respective draft decisions.

Draft decision

On 28 September 2023 we released our draft decision for Ausgrid's revenue determination for the 2024–29 period, commencing 1 July 2024.

On 9 October 2023, we held the predetermination conference to discuss our draft decisions for the NSW distributors (Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and Essential Energy). The presentation slides are available here.

Ausgrid's proposal

On 31 January 2023 Ausgrid submitted its 2024–29 Regulatory proposal to the AER. The proposal sets out the revenue Ausgrid proposes to collect from its consumers through distribution network charges over the 2024–29 regulatory control period.

On 28 March 2023, the AER published an Issues Paper highlighting some of the key elements of Ausgrid's proposal.

A public forum for interested parties was held on 5 April 2023, we have published the joint presentation pack

Submissions on Ausgrid's 2024–29 Regulatory proposal, our Issues Paper, and our proposed Negotiated distribution service criteria closed on 12 May 2023 and are now available on the website.

Background

Ausgrid is an electricity distribution network service provider. Its next five year regulatory control period commences on 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2029 (2024–29).

Under the NER, Ausgrid is required to submit its regulatory proposal to us by 31 January 2023. However, prior to that date, the NER require us to review the current F&A paper that applies to Ausgrid and decide whether to amend or replace it.

In June 2022, Ausgrid submitted the methodology it proposes to use to prepare the forecasts of operating expenditure and capital expenditure that form part of its regulatory proposal and the AER, in July 2022, published the final framework for Ausgrid.
