On 28 August 2017, the AER published a consultation paper seeking stakeholder views on its proposed rule change to apply its new demand management incentive scheme to distribution businesses during their current regulatory control periods.

We invited interested parties to make submissions on our draft demand management incentive scheme, draft demand management innovation allowance mechanism and early application rule change consultation paper. Submissions closed on Thursday 12 October 2017.

The AER may, but need not, consider a submission it receives after the consultation period has ended.

On 8 November 2017, we held a Feedback Forum as a videoconference across AER/ACCC offices. The Forum provided stakeholders with another opportunity to provide input before the publication of the scheme and allowance mechanism in early December 2017. At the Forum, we discussed our plans to incorporate stakeholder submissions made on our draft decision into the final scheme and allowance mechanism.
