Powerlink's Proposal

On 30 January 2026, Powerlink submitted its 2027-32 transmission revenue proposal to the AER for the five years commencing 1 July 2027. The proposal sets out the revenue that Powerlink proposes to collect from its customers through transmission charges from 1 July 2027 to 30 June 2032 (202732).

Submissions

We invite energy consumers and other interested parties to make submissions on Powerlink’s 2027-32 transmission revenue proposal by Tuesday 12, May 2026. 

Written submissions should be sent electronically to AERresets2027-32ataer [dot] gov [dot] au (AERresets2027-32[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) and addressed to Gavin Fox, General Manager, Australian Energy Regulator. Alternatively, submissions can be mailed to GPO Box 3131, Canberra ACT 2601.

Public forum

On 9 April 2026, the AER will host an online public forum for stakeholder to ask questions and share their views on Powerlink's 2027-32 transmission revenue proposal. 

Stakeholders are invited to register their attendance to the public forum through Eventbrite.

Background

Powerlink Queensland (Powerlink) is a Queensland electricity transmission network service provider. Its next five year regulatory control period commences on 1 July 2027 to 30 June 2032 (2027–32).

Under the National Electricity Rules (NER), Powerlink is required to submit its regulatory proposal to us by 31 January 2026. 

Prior to this, the NER require us to review the current Framework and Approach (F&A) paper that applies to Powerlink and decide whether to amend or replace it. On 31 July 2025, the AER published the final Framework and Approach for Powerlink.
