On 17 September 2026, we published our draft network resilience guidelines for consultation.

The release of the draft guidelines follows the completion of our first round of stakeholder engagement on the matters outlined in our consultation paper. Information on how we considered stakeholder feedback we received during the consultation paper engagement stage can be found in the explanatory note accompanying the draft guidelines.

We will have regard to the feedback we receive in response to our draft guidelines ahead of releasing the finalised network resilience guidelines in the coming months.

The AER invites interested stakeholders to make written submissions on the draft guidelines by Thursday, 15 October 2026.

Submissions should be made in an accessible format (such as a PDF) and emailed to: capexaer [dot] gov [dot] au (capex[at]aer[dot]gov[dot]au) 

We prefer submissions to be publicly available to facilitate informed and transparent consultation. We will treat written submissions as public documents unless otherwise requested.
