Basis of Preparation
In response to issues raised seeking guidance on the Basis of Preparation referencing, we have prepared prefilled Basis of Preparation files for the NSPs. These files have Data Submission Workbook tables prefilled to help NSPs meet the Basis of Preparation requirements, set out in section 5 of the Annual Information Orders.
Data category workbook mapping
During the development of the Orders (the Networks Information Requirements Review), AER grouped our data requirements into 'data categories' based on data type (for example, capital expenditure, service performance, network metrics). The Orders refer to the "data category workbooks."
After issuing the Orders, and responding to concerns raised by NSPs, we developed the 2024-25 data reporting workbooks. For ease of reporting these workbooks were structured to mirror (as close as possible) the previous RIN reporting workbooks.
To assist NSPs understand their obligations under the Orders, we provided annotated versions of the 'Appendix A Data Workbook Instructions' with the new data reporting workbook table numbers marked in blue text.
Also provided is an AER guidance - issues of interpretation document.
